Primordial Tiger Qigong

Primordial Tiger Qigong is a series of ancient exercises and techniques integrating traditional Chinese medicine, internal alchemy, and Daoist martial arts. For over three hundred years this closely guarded regiment was taught to the imperial family of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) by Zhang family masters to cultivate and circulate Qi throughout the body, to strengthen the body and immune system and to increase mental acuity and consciousness.

For thousands of years, the tiger has been a potent symbol of majesty, power, and vitality. Primordial Tiger Qigong is composed of five forms, each of which embodies the indomitable spirit of the tiger, which serves as the symbol of self-cultivation for pursuing personal excellence while surviving in an oft' troubled world. They are: Shamanic Tiger Qigong, Immortal Tiger Talisman Qi water, Immortal Tiger Internal Alchemy, Immortal Tiger Talisman Qigong, and the sixteen movements of Imperial Family Tiger Qigong, and commune with the universe.

After instructing participants in an opening exercise to enter Qi space, Grandmaster Zhang will guide the class through Shamanic Tiger Qigong, which is a playful introduction to the Primordial Tiger Qigong set that invigorates the body, de-stresses the mind, and removes personal inhibitions through guided mimicry and visualization of the tiger. Immortal Tiger Talisman Qi water is a two-thousand year-old technique for infusing water with Qi. Combined with fasting, this technique has a powerful cleansing effect on the body, mind, and heart.

Immortal Tiger Internal Alchemy is a thousand year-old meditative visualization technique designed to put the practitioner in tune with the latent energy of the universe. This technique is both energizing and soothing as the practitioner learns to situate, or find one's place, in the universe. Immortal Tiger Talisman Qigong employs an external focal point for concentration to guide the individual in their internal energy work. Through this regiment the practitioner is able to shed limiting beliefs and transcend them to unlock hidden abilities and inner potential.
Imperial Family Tiger Qigong is a series of sixteen exercises for self-defense and self-cultivation that was taught as a closely guarded secret to the Manchurian princes of the Imperial family of the Qing Dynasty in the Forbidden City by masters of the Zhang family for almost three-hundred years.

At various stages throughout the workshop, Grandmaster Zhang will use various certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils to increase the circulation of Qi along the meridians, balance the body, purify it from toxins, elevate the spirit, and create a sense of bliss and serenity among the participants. All required materials will be provided free of charge to participants.
